A short one
As the title suggests, this is gonna be a real short post. At least in comparison to my previous ones. First up, I updated a backdated entry, which is the post before this. After nearly 2 months of inactivity, I think it's time I come back to write.
One of the reason for my lack of updates here was that I have resumed conscription on 15th Jan. Yes, yes, I went back to my old unit, which had its name changed to AMB (Army Maintenance Base) and like the past, it's still very much a 9 - 5 kinda routine. The good news is that I'm going to finish my term in 3rd April. Pretty fast, eh? Taking into account leave and weekends, my actual number of workdays is about 20 or so.
Working life is pretty routine and mundane, the only exception is that I'm not doing any real work. That raises the question: What do I do when I'm in camp? Like what I told Dear, my job description is roughly the same as what an ornamental plant would do at night - use up whatever oxygen there is in the office. And look useful, of course!
Oh yes, my tongue is fully healed now. No more horrible ulcers for quite awhile and I hope that last. I've updated the quotes on the right frame, for I've come up with one during a frustrating incident at work. I was tasked to write some meeting minutes into "paper" form. Whatever that meant? Print it on paper? Scribble it on a notepad? I refused to produce anything useful, citing, "Without clear instructions, I cannot get anything done." I later learned that it meant I had to write the minutes in prose. See the world of difference? Sometimes, I wonder how those officers got their ranks. Then again, the Army is probably the only place where one gets promoted based on anything but merit and work performance.
